 Johnny on Point is a live-tronica-jam-danceband. Derek Pulliam; creator and producer of Johnny on Point, controls loops and samples thru Ableton Live and Logic Studio 8. Pulliam layers bass,keys, Kaosilator, Kp3 and vocals over the loops and samples. The music flows and changes depending on how the energies flow during the performance. There is a basic "layout" for the show but no show is ever the same.
Johnny on Point started out as a single dude.. jamming with fellow friends on guitars. 2 acoustic "open mics", one badass, one terrible, were played. After the second, Derek decided to take a completely different direction going fully electronic. Purchasing multiple electronic devices and programs Pulliam began figuring out how he would pull it off. After only one year, J.O.P., has shared the stage with Heatbox, The Histronic, That One Guy, Eoto, and local Iowa City bands including Five In a Hand. Johnny on Point now features 5 in a Hands' guitarist, vocalist and keyboardist, Delta Nine(Ryan Persinger)........for most shows, and has had a few different bassists jam alongside.
Johnny on Point has just released the debut album (WHICH IS FREE BY THE WAY!!!), "Keefin it Real," featuring Delta Nine. Be expecting to see much MUCH more of these boys on the electronic scene!!!
